With appropriate landscape lighting, you have more areas of your home to enjoy. Without it, and the loveliest home and yard look dark and forbidding. This is the time of year we want to spend as much time as we can outdoors - especially in the evening, when the heat of the day has broken! |
Like all other projects, the toughest part of this one can be getting started. Luckily, the wonderful people at the Sustainable Urban Landscape Information Series (SULIS) at the University of Minnesota (
http://www.sustland.umn.edu/index.html) have put together a detailed plan for making your outdoor space into an area you will enjoy. After all, for many of us most of the time we have to relax at home is in the evening. Some of us are at a j! ob away from home during the day; others are running around like crazy people; often the only time we can sit down with other adults is during the evening.
| We love the practical information the site provides. For example, it cautions us to plan the outdoor lighting only after the landscape is installed, so we accent the best parts of the landscape. This is the nitty-gritty sort of thing we might overlook! Other |
 | helpful items are links to other sites with lighting and product information and even a list of the tools you will need.
Ummm. A comfy chair, a silky breeze, a glass of wine and that flattering evening lighting. We'll see you in the back yard.
Your mellow Girlfriends, Terri, Suzanne and Alex
