get on that bike and ride!

Ever since that first exhilarating day when we learned to ride our 'two wheeler," we have loved bicycling. There is nothing like the breeze on our faces, the feeling of freedom, the rush of a downhill sprint (the bugs in our teeth). . . . But let's face it, the clothing is not the high point of the experience. Adding padding to our inner thighs? Bleh.

We have two favorite sites for cycling gear that looks good and performs well. Team Estrogen (www.teamestrogen.com) has a wide variety of cycling clothing in every size woman from Extra Small to 4X. Their New Additions  and Top Sellers are a good place to start. Team Estrogen also has much more. Their Gear Guide for the Beginning Cyclist discusses what
gear you need and gives advice on how to select and use it. Their advice is specific - such as wearing nothing but your birthday suit under cycling shorts. The Women's Cycling Discussion Forums are a top resource for all your questions.

Our second top spot is SkirtSports (www.skirtsports.com). SkirtSports has a small line of clothing dedicated to making us feel like athletes and look like women. Their BikeGirl cycling skirt is a butt-enhancing bonus for bike riding. The essential chamois pad is bu! ilt in, and they have a little pocket on the leg of the shorties. If you are a triathlete, first, we are in awe of
you. Second, TransitionGirl will allow you to throw on a skirt and cover your behind during T1 or T2 on the run.

Function, fashion, flattery - three Fs we love.

Your cycle-loving Girlfriends,
Terri, Suzanne and Alex.
