sneak a peek at what the world is watching

YouTube.com (www.youtube.com) is sweeping the Internet, and we think you have probably heard of it. Our contribution

to your YouTube knowledge will be to tell you about how you can benefit from YouTube, and to point out some sites that you might find interesting/amusing/informational. We won't go into the exhibitionist aspects of the site, as this is a G-rated newsletter. If they interest you, that's no problem for us - but you'll need to search the site yourself for the naked people or for Steve Irwin pulling the stingray barb out of his chest (that's on there, by the way).

First, there are lots and lots of entertaining videos on YouTube. At the end of this email, we have listed some of the videos we have found to be fun to watch. We are suckers for really good jugglers, as someone once told us that anyone could learn, and after a month or so of diligent effort, we are here to tell you all that that is untrue. While we were all snooty a minute ago about exhibitionist videos for which we were far, far too fancy, we do have a

strip site for you to enjoy. Why do so many of the sites we like come from Japan? And who could skip the two guys with the Diet Coke and the Mentos? Second, you can actually learn some things on this site. We kid you not, one of us has been folding shirts in a way she learned on YouTube. It is not only fast; it is also fun to use in order to amaze people.

Third, you can be inspired. For example, we watched Martin Luther King give his "I Have A Dream" speech on YouTube. We were rooting around and found a graduation address that Steve Jobs gave. Listen to it - it's good. Too bad that probably none of the graduates were listening. Remember how hot graduations always are? At any rate, listening to these got us searching around for others we find inspiring. You may not be able to find the precise speech you are looking for, but you'll find! some things you like.

Finally, there are some moral lessons to be learned or shared in YouTube. The (somewhat voyeuristic) one we'll share with you is the tape of Crispin Glover humiliating himself on David Letterman's show. We honestly showed it to our children as an example of why all those intriguing drugs are really a bad idea.

A couple of last pieces of advice. For one, to see the video on your full screen, click on the rectangular icon on the lower right corner of the small video screen. The last bit of advice: if you find a video you love, take a look at "explore more videos" just to the right of the screen. There may be others you will enjoy, also.  This is another one of those sites in which you can totally immerse yourself. We have included links to all the sites we mentioned above, plus a couple others for your enjoyment. Have fun.

Your voyeuristic Girlfriends,

Alex and Suzanne
