Good-looking contemporary lighting is very difficult to find without spending a fortune. We know this, because 1.5 of us really likes contemporary lighting. Often times the local stores carry the same old boring (in one of our opinion's) carriage lights. However, Girlfriends, as always, we are here to help you!

Form+Function has a wide variety of what we would term modern, contemporary (a little softer) and transitional lighting. By transitional, we mean lighting that is not edgy and will work in a variety of decors. There is a lot of Craftsman design, plus rustic, Southwestern, and even Early American.
We are very fond of lighting that makes a statement. |
After all, this is a part of our homes. Why not enjoy it? The monorail systems provide a real punch, and an excellent alternative to traditional track lighting. If track is what you are looking for, Form+Function also sells tracks, with lighting choices from unobtrusive to industrial. Tech Trak provides a mix of both - it's hand-bendable, like a monorail system, but it's line voltage, so you don't need to figure out where to put transformers.
| Let's talk about sconces. Yes, they are a pain to install if you don't already have the wiring in place, but the light is so flattering! You may have picked up from other Show and Tell Me's that we are big into flattering. From simple alabaster to quite traditional to edgy, Form+Function has an exciting variety of sconces. |

Form+Function has plenty of lighting that you can just plug in. We like their choices in table lamps and floor lamps. We also like the fact that in each category, Form+Function provides navigation by style on the right sidebar. Combine that with the categories on the left sidebar and we can tell you - this site is easy to get around.
Your illuminated Girlfriends,
Alex and Suzanne
