Happy Thanksgiving, Girlfriends! Suzanne and Alex are busy making pies and scrubbing potatoes. We hope that your Thanksgiving is wonderful in both feasting and company. For our Thanksgiving gift to you, we are sharing two sites we think are very, very fun, Monk-E-Mail and a Jackson Pollock site.
 |
Monk-e-Mail (careerbuilder.com/monk-e-mail) will provide you with an entirely new way to communicate with your friends and family. Choose your monkey, accessorize him or her as you wish and add an audio message. Preview your message and send off to your friends by entering their email addresses! We have tested Monk-e-Mail quite extensively using both text- | to-speech and microphone recording. The lip-synching is a key and excellent detail. A couple of tips. If you are using text-to-speech, we find that the male chimps are easier to understand than the females. Also, spell phonetically, and play around with it a little until your message sounds good. For example, when we Monk-e-Mailed our friend Maggi we needed to spell her name Maggey. Through our extensive research we also found that you can make your monkey say very naughty words. Purely in the interest of acquiring knowledge, of course.
| Paint like Pollock at the Jackson Pollock site (jacksonpollock.org). As soon as you enter the site, color will begin to drip off your cursor. Click your mouse and the color will change. Move your cursor more quickly or more slowly to vary the drips and pools of paint. You never know quite what color will come |
 | up next. If you just love your artwork, we have found a way to save it. 1. Select "print screen' on your computer. For Alex's Dell, this involves pressing ctrl and prnt scrn together. For Suzanne's Compaq, selecting function and prnt scrn does the trick. 2. Then open a photo editing program such as Microsoft Photo Editor or Adobe Photoshop Elements. In Microsoft Photo Editor, choose Edit, Paste as New Image. In Photoshop Elements, choose File, New from Clipboard. 3. Crop out the excess parts of the screen shot and save your masterpiece as a file! If you do not love your artwork and want to try again, just open a new page in your browser.
Have a lovely holiday. We are very thankful for each and every one of you.
Your Grateful Girlfriends,
Suzanne and Alex
