When we were planning Tell Me Girlfriend, one of our top goals was to bring you sources for truly unique, artisan creations. Today, that's just what we're doing. My Bonnie & Clyde (mybonnieandclyde.com) is a fabulous site that is home to a group of independent artists and designers who create one-of-a-kind treats.
My Bonnie & Clyde is organized into eight major categories plus an "odds & ends" assortment. There is always something new | happening on the site. Right now there are about fifty artists and designers with more on the way.
| Jewelry is very well represented on the site, as are accessories. We like the offbeat lamps and tree ornaments we found in the decor section and the hand-spun yarn in the odds & ends. Since the site is so very diverse, it is worth taking a little time to page through the sections, as you never know quite what you will find. For example, we found blank books in both the paper and the odds & ends sections. And |
 | while we found the fashions a little youthful for us, we were quite taken with the handmade and hand-altered silk camisole we found.
It is very sad that artists and designers are so underpaid, but there is a silver lining for us - the items at My Bonnie & Clyde are pretty darned inexpensive. A greeting card with hand folded flowers made from phonebooks with stitching was $2.50. An excellently-titled toile mace lamp was $150. And you will never find the same piece at anyone else's home! Finally, to keep those starving artists a little hungrier, some of the items are on sale. You can find out what is reduced about halfway down the home page.
Your artistic Girlfriends,
Suzanne and Alex
