That fishy smell could mean bargains for you! We have recently found a wild - and pretty addictive - Internet site called Jellyfish.com (www.jellyfish.com). It's a little difficult to explain all of the ins and outs of it, so please bear with us for a paragraph. Each day, Jellyfish runs a bunch of online auctions called Smack Shopping. Well, reverse online auctions. The Smack Deals are posted, one at a time, beginning at noon Central time, for one hour. The discount counter begins when the item is posted, and the discount keeps increasing (or the price keeps decreasing) until the items are sold out. You won't know how many items there are until they are all gone. Sometimes there's only one, sometimes several. If you want to participate in a Smack Deal, you need to decide how much of a gambler you are. Bid too soon, and you'll pay more than you needed to bid. Bid too late, and you miss the deal. Smack Shopping calls itself the Internet's first live shopping game show. There is a whole explanation on the site of how they make their money and how you get these deals. In a nutshell, (as far as we understand it,) advertisers pay Jellyfish to promote their products. Jellyfish uses this money to give the cash back on the Smack Deals. You'll pay the suggested retail price, but Jellyfish will give you cash - actual cash, not something irritating like "JellyBucks" - back 30 to 60 days after your purchase. To make sure you're actually keeping the thing, which seems reasonable to us. There are other aspects to the site, like regular shopping with a little cash back and a "guess the discount" game show that runs with each Smack Deal. We won't get into all these twists and turns - if you're interested, you should cruise around Smack Shopping during a Smack Deal and check it out for youself.
