Vacation Rentals by Owner (www.vrbo.com)
 |
When we travel, we often miss the comforts of home. We like to have a kitchen, a living area, and some space to relax. Vacation Rentals by Owner lists over 50,000 homes around the world. These homes are usually more spacious than a hotel room, and they usually are less expensive. Your | Girlfriends have stayed in VRBO homes in Mexico, Paris, San Diego and a variety of ski places in Colorado.
The offerings range from studios to palatial villas. Most of the properties have a kitchen and many accept pets. Each property is described in a listing, usually with photos, and you are able to contact the owner with any questions you have.
|
Of course, you need to do your homework. You are negotiating directly with an owner, so you do not have the protection of a travel agency. VRBO outlines its cautions in a disclaimer section.
Cautions noted, we have |
 | had good experiences with places we have rented through VRBO. Some properties have more amenities than others, as some are used frequently by their owners. (We recommend properties that are used at least some of the time by the owners.) We have found them to be excellent for vacationing families or groups.
